Truett was diagnosed with Truncus Arteriosus with VSD in uterine at the 20 week anatomy scan. • After birth it was confirmed that not only did he have Truncus Arteriosus (which is a rare congenital heart defect) but he also had a rare genetic disorder called Mandibulofacial Dysostosis with Microcephaly.
Truett had more surgeries than we can count. At the age of 2 and after a failed open heart surgery, Truett was placed on the heart transplant list. He waited inpatient at Boston’s Children’s Hospital for 2 month before being medical airlifted back to his home hospital at St Louis Children’s. He waited 2 more months in the hospital before receiving his hero heart. Truett was gifted his Hero Heart on October 30, 2019. His donor was a 3 year old little boy, named Ki.
Truett lived his best life with his hero heart. He had the most energy and surpassed all expectations that were set before him. • Truett loved dance parties, Shrek, PJ Masks, ALL the food (especially cheese balls, baked beans and nutter butters), his dog named Zeda, his cat named Tille, his lovies, his big brothers and telling mommy and daddy how things were done.
On October 29th Truett had his 1 year heart biopsy and had complications. On October 30, 2020 he was placed on ECMO. • Truett departed his earthly life on November 3, 2020 in the arms of his mom and dad, and big brothers too. We sang Jesus Loves Me, You Are My Sunshine and Amazing Grace until he met Jesus.
